Today I think we got some punishment over my comment regarding enjoying the cool mornings we have been having. After a look around Santa Rosa we headed out for
Albuquerque and like the last couple of days, it didn't take long for the wind to recognise us and it started blowing again. Today though, instead of the warm wind we had been getting, we had a cold wind and a magnified wind chill factor. Very brisk, eventually had to stop for something warmer to wear.
Before leaving Santa Rosa we stopped to check out the Blue Hole. This is a natural pool filled with crystal clear water with an outflow of 3000 US gallons per minute. Appears to be a spring that is around 80 feet deep and is available for a swimming hole or scuba diving.
Apart from a cold ride, today's short travel was uneventful and we rolled into Albuquerque and took a ride through the Old Town. Very crowded due to the nine day Balloon Festiva currently underway. Then it was off to the Owl Cafe to meet with John and Linda where they introduced us to New Mexico's Green Chilli Cheeseburger for lunch. Hot chillis but good. John has been to Australia a couple of times for rides and they are good friends with other friends of ours. John and Linda generously offered us a stay at their home in north Albuquerque.
In case you're wondering, no, we are not still sitting out on the highway as the Spot tracker says. I think I have a plan to resolve my issue of not having a final GPS location recorded when I sign off for the day. Tomorrow will tell.
